Jessica Ball, M.P.H., PhD
Jessica Ball is a professor at the University of Victoria’s School of Child and Youth Care. She is known for her path-finding work on First Nations English dialects, Indigenous language revitalization in Canada and Southeast Asia, and community-engaged collaborations in research and service delivery. Her interdisciplinary research program responds to requests from Indigenous and other non-dominant cultural groups to partner in studies aimed at improving the quality of life and wellness of children and youth (www.ecdip.org). Indigenous children’s speech and language development is a priority consistently identified by communities for better research and improved practice.
