Rosalind Catchpole

Dr. Rosalind Catchpole, Registered Psychologist

Dr. Catchpole received her Ph.D. in child-clinical psychology from Simon Fraser University. She is a director at Cornerstone Child and Family Psychology Clinic in Vancouver and head of the Mood and Anxiety Disorders Clinic at BC Children’s Hospital where she regularly conducts assessment and treatment of Selective Mutism (SM) and other anxiety disorders. Additionally, she is a clinical instructor in the department of psychiatry at UBC. She has published a research study on the effectiveness of individually-delivered behavioural treatment of SM, and is currently evaluating the effectiveness of a group-based treatment program. She regularly gives professional and parent workshops on SM, and co-leads “Camp Brave,” an intensive treatment program for SM. She has worked with Anxiety Canada and the Kelty Mental Health Centre to develop educational materials about SM. She also worked on the development of the Confident Parents, Thriving Kids Anxiety program, a free video and phone-based coaching programs delivered by the Canadian Mental Health Association – BC Division. She is the mother of two children who regularly remind her she is not as funny as she thinks she is.
