Evidence supports that parents & caregivers can effectively implement intervention strategies, leading to greater progress in children’s speech and language goals. After reviewing definitions and research evidence, we will focus on clinician strategies for better integrating parents as active participants in S-LP interventions, building in success for both parent and child.
Participants will rate current parent involvement in their sessions using a continuum tool. They will complete an individual plan for implementing one of the strategies discussed with the parent of a specific client, wording the objective from the parent’s perspective. Time permitting, clinical case examples will be discussed.
