Effects of COVID-19 Health Measures on Teacher's and Educational Professionals' Voice, Communication, and Well-Being

The health measures imposed by COVID-19 on workplaces created adverse communication settings. Our study aims to document and analyze the vocal difficulties caused by these measures in schools and early childhood settings. A survey regarding vocal health was answered by 201 professionals working in these settings in October 2020. Overall, respondents perceive that their vocal use is negatively affected by COVID-19 health measures, and they feel unequipped to take care of their voice. Better equipping professionals and workplaces in dealing with vocal health issues in challenging contexts is a priority where S-LPs have an advocacy and training role to play.
