Early Intervention speech-language pathologists work within multidisciplinary teams to support families and young children with suspected autism spectrum disorder. Our EIP program developed a care path to promote consistent, evidenced-based service delivery in an urban outpatient pediatric community setting. This presentation follows the client and family’s journey from the initial point of concern through to transition to registered autism services, and answers the question of how Early Intervention clinicians can best support parents in understanding a possible autism diagnosis and their role in supporting their child’s development.
