Navigating Pediatric Feeding Disorders (PFD) in Canada: Local and International Learnings for Future Pathways

Pediatric Feeding Disorders (PFD) was introduced, as a unifying diagnostic term to cover holistic needs of children with feeding disorders. The diagnostic criteria of PFD consist of medical, nutritional, feeding skill, and psychosocial domains and management is based on the impairments in each of the domain. Speech- Language Pathologists (SLP) play a critical role in this conceptual model of PFD developed as a multidisciplinary consensus, though the practice vary across contexts. This session aims to address the current practices of PFD management and initiate a dialogue on creating a community of practice for SLPs in PFD management in Canada.
