S-LP intervention with preschoolers who have a language disorder begins with establishing goals based on developmental milestones as well as functional communication needs. Centred on these goals, speech therapists must also choose the type of intervention approach, techniques, and strategies, as well as how, when and to what frequency they should be implemented. This talk will present research on the active ingredients of therapy that constitute “the right care at the right time”. It will focus on an integrated framework that outlines qualitative and quantitative active ingredients of intervention and allows a coherent description of current research about S-LP intervention with young children.
